From country pubs to boutique city inns and a newly-launched barn conversion aimed at large parties, Provenance Inns claims Best Accommodation Operator at the 25th anniversary of the Publican Awards in style, in association with Acumen.

The Northern operator’s seven sites triumphed ahead of the OHH Pub Company, Inn Collection Group and Inns of Character to claim the award, in association with Acumen thanks to a tremendous set of financial results, thoughtful improvements to several sites and an excellent food offer.

This is a forward-thinking company that is bringing a touch of glamour, while not losing sight of its heritage, among some truly amazing locations in North Yorkshire.

Breakfast is a particularly impressive part of what the business has to offer with free help-yourself fizz available at some sites and locally sourced produce filling the made to order dishes.

Each site has high-quality luxurious rooms, which are setting the bar for the rest of the sector.

Staff training and retention are a big part of Provenance Inns’ business model and owners Michael Ibbotson and Chris Blundell, regularly gives employees the opportunity to provide honest feedback.

Ed Bedington, editor of the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, which organises the awards, said: “Provenance Inns is setting standards when it comes to accommodation and impressed judges across the board.

“It’s emphasis on adding glamour while retaining heritage and history is a nice touch and this is a business to watch for the future.”
