Deltic, which runs 59 late night sites across the UK, takes home the gong at the 25th anniversary of the Publican Awards following a period of huge redevelopment after the management took control of what was once Luminar in 2011.
Hard work to drive the business in a new direction is now paying off, and has seen the company move into new areas, including day-time with the launch of Bar & Beyond.
Beating off Intertain and Stonegate, Deltic stood out thanks to the introduction of a new strand of late-night bars to its business, completing record refurbishments and bringing entertainment booking in-house.
The introduction of an innovative “single customer view” programme has been one of the operator’s biggest successes, in which analysis of an individual’s social media profiles helps pinpoint what kind of night out they would be interested in to target marketing more specifically.
Ed Bedington, editor of the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, said: “: “Innovation is key to this business and it’s looking to turn the concept of late night operation on its head. Deltic is operating in a tough market, but it has not shied away from meeting that challenge head on. This is a company which is working hard and setting the pace for the rest of the market to follow.”
