Punch has frozen spirits prices until June/July 2017 to absorb the duty increases on wine and high-strength sparkling cider.

This is the second year in a row the pubco has frozen spirits prices following duty rises in the Budget in March 2016.

Punch said the hold on prices included brands that are a 'key purchase for publicans looking to provide their customers with the most popular drinks choices'.

The prices of Jagermeister, Jack Daniels, Bacardi Carta Blanca and Smirnoff Red Vodka have now remained the same for three years running.

John Healy, commercial director at Punch, said: “We’re always looking for ways to support our publicans and provide them with that little bit extra, which is why we have decided to freeze spirits prices for a second year. This will help our publicans maximise the profit opportunities available to them on these products.

“We look forward to welcoming our publicans to this year’s roadshows where many of our major spirits suppliers will be in attendance and have some fantastic offers exclusively available to attendees on the day.”
