Punch reveals new food-led pub concept

The new concept has been designed to work for community pubs in village locations where the business will attract locals and destination diners alike, with a focus on high-quality food.

The first pubs to showcase the concept will be the Mall in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire and the Malt Shovel, Lichfield.

The Mall will feature a real fire, exposed brickwork and a “modern” kitchen which will deliver brunch, lunch, dinner and “grazing” menus.

Refine

Following these pilot openings, plans are underway to “refine” the concept with further sites in future, the Morning Advertiser ​understands.

David Wigham, development director at Punch, said: “Our aim is to create pubs that village residents will be proud to call their local and to which people will be prepared to travel for the hospitality on offer.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us to deliver outstanding hospitality in some great British pubs. We have a significant number of pubs across our estate which could fit the Village Pub & Kitchen concept in due course.”
