Yummy Pub Co to take part in newly launched Dog-Friendly Awards

With the launch of the Dog-Friendly Pub Awards, Tim Forster, co-owner at Yummy, is aiming to take the top title.
Encourage
The awards were launched recently by Dogbuddy.com in a bid to encourage a more pet-friendly attitude in pubs throughout the UK.
A recent survey by Dogbuddy.com revealed that two-thirds of dog owners are deterred from locations that do not allow dogs. With 8.5 million dog and owners in the UK alone, a business that adopts a dog-friendly ethos would reap the benefits.
Forster says owning a rescue dog in the past impacted his outlook towards incorporating pets into his establishments. His dog Ruby was “an asset to my business, not a liability”.
He adds: “If your best friend is at home why shouldn’t he/she be with you at the pub, regardless if he/she is a canine?”.
Voting in the Dogbuddy.com awards closes on 31 October, from which 12 UK regional winners will be announced. A panel of judges will then decide which pub is deemed to be top dog and awarded the title Best Dog Friendly Pub of the Year.
