Since opening on the top floor of Monument Mall in Newcastle town centre, New World Trading Company’s the Botanist has gone from strength to strength, taking upwards of £6m in its first year and delivering up to 3,000 covers a week.

The interior of the pub immediately wows guests with its grand, slick styling.

Customers are faced with a huge tree as the centrepiece, while the giant dome glass roof lit by fairy lights is visible on flights to and from the city’s airport. Diverse areas in the pub include a beer garden with views of the city, balconies and function rooms.

The pubco is an industry leader in new technologies, and uses its own specialised app, Tribes, to engage and reward its valued staff members throughout the business.

It also provides intense support in training and management, while retaining staff ownership of the site with interaction on food and cocktail menu ideas.

The focus on rewarding employees and offering genuine career opportunities means staff turnover is extremely low, and expertise level is outstanding.
