On average, 220 publicans attended each of the roadshows and, of those that attended, 92% confirmed that they would recommend the event to other Punch publicans and 90% said they would make a return visit to the same event in 2017.
Punch focused the roadshows on supporting existing publicans and building their businesses. This included guidance on the impact of the recent regulatory changes.
Advice included presentations on the new pubs code, which took place at every event, by the British Institute of Innkeeping and Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers.
At each event, the local operations teams hosted post-roadshow drinks for attendees, providing the opportunity for publicans to network.
There were more than 160 exhibitors, including suppliers, educational bodies as well as The Morning Advertiser.
Punch chief executive Duncan Garrood said: “The 2016 roadshows were our biggest and best yet. We aimed high and delivered above those expectations.
“I couldn’t be more impressed with just how many current and potential publicans we welcomed through our doors.
“The feedback on all aspects of the event was astounding – from the location of each venue to the support offered from suppliers and operations.”
