Dea Latis aims to challenge women’s ideas about beer and present it to them in a way that encourages them to taste it.
The group is running its annual beer and breakfast event on Friday, 2 December from 9.30am to midday at the Kings Stores, Spitalfields, east London.
Attendees can try each of five breakfast courses matched with a beer with commentary by the brewer or a beer expert. Breakfasts include the veggie sausage sandwich, avocado & bacon on sourdough and granola & yoghurt.
Lisa Harlow, one of the Dea Latis organisers, said:“We have a real mix of people coming to these events; from brewers, marketeers and licensees to beer-loving members of the public. They’re not exclusively female but women tend to be in the majority.
“If pub operators come along, like what they see and fancy running a similar event in their own pub or bar, we would be happy to help them to organise it. We have some handy tips and ideas we can send to them and local brewers love the chance to show off their beers.”
Tickets for the five-course breakfast served with matching beers, tea, coffee and networking is £25.
The organisation boasts a range of corporate partners including AB InBev, Charles Wells, Dark Star, Marston’s, Molson Coors, Heineken and Everards.
