Fleurets has sold this community local off an asking price of £225,000 to Craig Barton of T & JT Barton (Bottlers) Ltd, who has confirmed that the pub will continue to trade and employ the current licensees, Paula and Allan Rock.
The property comprises of two bars as well as a function room and was previously owned by Steve Jordan of Puffin Pub Company. Jordan said: "I’ve been with the major breweries for most of my working life and ran two pub companies. The Caledonian has been part of both for the past 17 years and holds a special place in my heart because my grandfather was a former licensee."
"The pub could have been sold to a developer, but I wanted to preserve the pub for the community and to protect the jobs of our long serving licensees Paula and Allan. I’m delighted I’ve been able to achieve both by selling to Craig Barton at T & JT Barton (Bottlers) Ltd, a well-respected and long-established local company that is intending to keep it as a community local."
