A sensational Sunday, with back-to-back Premier League football in the afternoon and two crucial NFL playoffs in the evening, is at the heart of the weekend's best sport to show in the pub.

Football: Manchester City v Tottenham (Saturday, 5.30pm) - BT Sport 1

Two of the Premier League's runaway top six meet in the Saturday early evening encounter. Not only is the game likely to prove hugely entertaining, it also represents a great chance to get customers in and keep them there for the whole evening by having a strong food offer for customers watching the match.

Football: Premier League triple header (Sunday, 12noon) - Sky Sports 1

Sunday afternoon brings with it non-stop Premier League action, with three matches following one another on the same channel. Reigning champions Leicester City open proceedings at Southampton; title-chasers Arsenal then host Burnley; before the team that everyone is chasing, Chelsea, are at home to Hull City.

NFL: Conference Championships (Sunday 8.05pm) - Sky Sports 1

It is the weekend that decides who will be contesting the Super Bowl in a fortnight's time. First up the Green Bay Packers who visit the Atlanta Falcons before the New England Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers; the winners of these two matches will then play each other in NFL's showpiece event on 5 February. Super Bowl parties are worth on average an extra £1,000 in trade to pubs so this Sunday's conference championship finals are a great chance to refine an NFL offer ahead of the big event.
