This Mersea Island pub has been taken on by a local businessman, Brett Lord, who has confirmed intentions to redevelop and refurbish the entire property, so that it may operate as a boutique hotel, restaurant and bar sympathetic to the islands’ history.
Gareth Hatton from Fleurets’ East Anglian office brokered the sale. He said: "This is a significant purchase that will benefit the coastal Essex town of West Mersea. The introduction of a prominent establishment in this location will undoubtedly help boost the tourist trade that the island currently receives."
