National Pub Fortnight will take place between 22 July and 6 August and “will see consumers across the UK celebrating their locals”, explained Ei group services director James Armitage.
Pubs involved with the initiative will be encouraged to run their own events, including beer festivals, music events, family fun days and barbecues. And Ei’s business development managers and the pubco’s customer contact team will be in contact with licensees about how to get involved.
A limited supply of free marketing material, including bunting and banners, will be available for tenants to promote their events.
Ei also plans to run a promotional campaign for the fortnight, featuring Facebook posts targeted at customers in each pub’s local area.
With 15,000 free drinks available to customers over the course of the fortnight, an Ei spokesperson said that licensees that sign up to National Pub Fortnight will automatically be listed online as a place where the free drinks can be claimed.
British Beer & Pub Association chief executive Brigid Simmonds called the initiative a “great way” to celebrate British pubs.
“We all need to support our locals. I hope pubgoers will get behind this initiative and make the most of the great promotions,” she added.
