‘Absolutely disgusting’ pub and hotel slapped with £1,900 food hygiene fine
The licensees of a Blackpool pub and hotel were fined last year (October) after environmental health officers discovered a slew of food hygiene offences.
Christine and Karlton Varney, owners of the Hotel Athol on South Promenade, pleaded guilty to 11 breaches of the food safety and hygiene regulations at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on 26 October.
They were ordered to pay £180 for each offence – a total of £1,980 – as well as £220 in costs.
