Camden Town Brewery has won the Grand Prix prize at the Beer and Cider Marketing Awards 2017.

The brewery won the award for Best Beer Marketing of the Year, as well as Best Event and Best Branding/Design.

The winners were revealed at a ceremony at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, London last night (21 September).

The awards, in their third year, recognise the very best in beer and cider marketing and were boosted by a record number of entries and attendees on the night.

'An amazing accolade'

Speaking after collecting their award, Camden founder Jasper Cuppaidge said: “Like all the awards that we win for beer and for marketing it's great for the company and the guys who work within it.

“It's an amazing accolade for all the hard work they do day in day out. They start early and finish late, and its really great for them to come and be with their peers and get celebrated.”

On the subject of what makes Camden’s marketing stand out, the AB InBev-owned brewery’s CEO said: “It's 100% authentic and we love doing it and have a lot of fun doing it. There's a lot of humour and totally honesty in everything we do, and that reflects across the whole brand.

“We take a lot from our location. We love the area we are in, which gives us belief in who we are; it's open to all, it’s diverse and accessible and that reflects across everything we do. “

Great entries across the board

Other winners included Yowler / Sand Creative Kent Cider Company (Best Cider Marketing of the Year), Brewgooder (Best Corporate Social Responsibility) and There’s a Beer for That (Best Business to Business Campaign, Best Print Advertising Campaign)

Also recognised at the awards were drinks writer Jane Peyton (Beer: Outstanding Individual Achievement) and Gabe Cook (Cider: Outstanding Individual Achievement).

The awards were judged by a panel include leading on and off-trade operators, beer journalists, bloggers and award-winning marketers.

Co-founder of the Beer and Cider Marketing Awards and chairman of judges Pete Brown said: “What a year! The introduction of cider to this year’s awards made the judging process even more fascinating than usual. There were some truly great entries across the board, but our winners delivered a masterclass in assured brand building with genuine passion for beer at its heart.”
