Family-owned Robinsons Brewery has walked away with no fewer than 20 accolades at several high-profile beer awards, including the World Beer Awards.

Five brews were commended at the 2017 World Beer Awards, including a gold for dark beer Old Tom, silver for pale ale Trooper and UK Country winner for Ginger and Blonde Tom.

Old Tom also swiped the coveted World’s Best Design award following a rebrand in May this year.

Five more of the Stockport-based brewer’s beers won awards at the 2017 BBI Awards, winning gold for Ginger Tom and silver for Mojo and Hallowed.

Awarded diplomas

Trooper and Old Tom were also awarded diplomas in the Ales, Lagers and Ciders category.

More awards were won at the 2017 Global Beer Masters and the International Beer Challenge.

Robinsons head brewer Martyn Weeks said: “We are really pleased that such a variety of our ales have been awarded. When designing a beer, a lot of hard work and patience goes into getting the recipe and the flavours just right.

“We have a diverse family of ales, from heritage brews that are more than 120 years old to lively young ales that are new to the market, but they all have one thing in common: quality.

‘Important to cask drinkers’

“We take quality seriously. We know how important it is to cask drinkers – in fact to all drinkers. That’s why each beer has an exclusive taste to satisfy our drinkers' wants and needs, and for this to be recognised by well-respected judges in such a competitive industry means a lot.”

At the Global Beer Masters awards, which are judged through a blind tasting, Trooper, Ginger Tom, Unicorn and wizard were all given bronze medals.

Unicorn Black, Hallowed and Beardo were all awarded silver.

Finally, three more accolades were given at the International Beer Challenge, with Old Tom picking up a gold for packaging. A further gold was awarded to Ginger Tom and a bronze was awarded to Original Tom.
