Pub hosts nude speed dating event inspired by Channel 4's Naked Attraction
The event, created by Dateinadash.com, will be held at the Exhibit pub, Balham, south London, and will include up to 30 guests in their birthday suits.
Advertising the event, organisers said: "The selection and attraction of a suitable mate is one of fundamental importance to all species, both in the animal kingdom and with humans too. With this in mind, it's not surprising that in the world of dating the same kind of attraction and science applies.
"So, just like [Channel 4's] Naked Attraction, which features men and women selecting from a range of potential dates, entirely naked, our brand new naked speed dating will do the same."
On arrival to the pub, eager speed daters will be given dressing gowns to change into. All guys and girls in attendance will then line up, facing one another, and then reveal themselves to each other.
However, guests need not be deterred, as organisers are operating a "clothes optional policy" so the more frivolous can choose to bare all, while others may wish to keep their underwear on.
"After the big reveal it's time to get dressed and compose yourself, grab yourself a well-earned drink just before the speed dating begins," organisers added.
"The fun begins here as you get to mingle, chat and flirt with the gorgeous bunch of guys and girls you've just seen naked."
The event has proved so successful that tickets are now sold out.
Beyond physical attraction
While the old saying goes don't judge a book by its cover is very true, Dateinadash.com's naked speed dating in London is aimed at "solidifying the importance" of getting to know someone and see beyond physical attraction. "But, the importance placed on appearance, and the information we obtain from appearance, whether consciously or unconsciously, is something to which we can all relate", it said.
Events manager for the pub Lola Bushby added: "This is the first naked speed dating we have done, and definitely the most dramatic we've put on. We are looking forward to it. I'm not sure what to expect, but everyone is really excited for it to come to the pub.
"If it works and everyone enjoys themselves and it's a success, we would definitely do it again.
"So far it's been really good for business, we've had really good feedback, everyone seems to be really in to it, so we shall see after it happens".
The pub benefits from drinks custom while Dateinadash.com takes the ticket sales.
