Following the draw for the regional qualifiers of the BT Sport Pub Cup, Arsenal stoppers Petr Cech and David Ospina gave two pub keepers a real challenge.

Currently Arsenal’s first choice between the sticks, Cech holds the record for most Premier League clean sheets, with 200 goalless appearances amassed over the course of his 433 appearances for Chelsea and Arsenal.

Ospina, who has represented Colombia on 85 occasions, has been largely confined to a back-up role since joining Arsenal from Nice in 2014.

The pair put Ian Cater, number one for the Carpenters Arms, St Albans, Hertfordshire; and Siri Durani, goalkeeper for the Swan in Wimbledon, south-west London; through their paces at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.

Starting off as a seven-a-side competition, the cup will take place at six football stadiums across the UK, including Everton’s Goodison Park and Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough.

The tournament will turn into an 11-a-side competition at the semi-final stage, taking place at St George’s Park before the final at the home of Leicester City on Saturday, 2 June.

The two teams who advance to the final will then be managed and coached by BT Sport pundits, and former Welsh internationals, Robbie Savage and John Hartson.
