Taken down: BrewDog has now removed the tweet that was aimed at Tennent's Lager
BrewDog has removed a tweet in which it recommended drinkers to do anything but drink Tennent's Lager, to which Tennent's responded, calling the craft beer operator and brewer its "annoying wee brother".

Although now removed, a BrewDog spokesperson confirmed the tweet had stated: “Things we recommend doing instead of drinking @Tennentslager. 1. Anything else.”

Tennent’s response said: “When your annoying wee brother tries to bam you up, but really he’s just crying for attention.. #Bless #Bothered."

Twitter users voiced their support for Tennent's. Jamie Aitken said: "Highlight of the day was BrewDog getting done by Tennents Lager."

Matt Wichham said: "If it was football, I'd say it ended about Tennent's Lager 6-0 BrewDog, with BrewDog taking their ball off the pitch and going off home early before the end of the match. #WednesdayWisdom."

Long history

Tennent's "owned" BrewDog, according to Kerry Anne McWilliam.

Ken Watt said it was about time BrewDog re-branded as "beer for topknoted [sic] hipsters anyway".

The Morning Advertiser contacted Tennent’s but it declined to comment further, BrewDog were also contacted but had not issued a response at the time of publication.
