Burning Night subsidiary companies placed into administration
Andrew Mackenzie and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor in Leeds were appointed as joint administrators for the Burning Night Group on 28 September 2018.
The firm’s remaining nine subsidiary businesses have also been put into administration.
Begbies Traynor’s Andrew Mackenzie, Julian Pitts and Christopher Brooksbank of O’Haras Limited were appointed as joint administrators on 7 December.
Venues run by the Leeds-based firm will continue to trade as usual, including Bierkeller, Shooters Bar, Around the World Bar, Smokin’ Bar & Kitchen and The Potting Shed sites.
The nine subsidiary businesses are Visionary Leisure Limited, Sports Café 2008 (Leeds) Limited, Contactwith Limited, Crossingarea Limited, Anotherdate Limited, Organisetime Limited, Startermode Limited, Supplyof Limited and Harrogate Bar Co Limited.
Hunt for buyers
Joint administrator Andrew Mackenzie said there was optimism that buyers would be found soon.
He said: “It is business as usual, with these popular bar and restaurant venues continuing to trade and we are very optimistic that appropriate buyers will be found.
“We are already speaking to several interested parties and hope to be able to conclude sales in the near future in order to bring about the optimum outcome for the businesses’s creditors, staff and customer.”
Management agent Convivial Management Solutions has been instructed by the administrators to run the venues while buyers are sought.
Bierkeller venues employ more than 500 staff across the country and took in revenue in excess of £25m in 2017-2018.
Although a Bierkeller venue at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff closed after financial struggles, the remaining sites experienced growth over the past financial year and expect further growth.
