Tenth site for Red Mist Leisure
Red Mist is to convert a Brasserie Blanc site, part of Raymond Blanc’s chain of French brasserie restaurants, on Castle Street. The site will to re-open under a new name in February.
The pubco was founded by two friends – Mark Robson and Mark Williams – in 2004 and is focused on destination establishments across Surrey and Hampshire.
Robson, managing director of Red Mist Leisure said the acquisition marked a homecoming for the pubco.
He said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to once again be returning to our buzzing hometown of Farnham.
“By taking on this new site, that is in such a prime position within the town, it will enable us to further grow our award-winning pub and dining business, which heavily features fresh, local and seasonal food and drink and great service in a welcoming environment.”
The company announced its largest refurbishment investment to date last year, with £2.5m spent on opening a destination pub in Hampshire.
Situated on the 7,000-acre parkland estate owned by the Duke of Wellington and his family, the Wellington Arms saw the creation of 40 jobs in November.
Robson was announced as the next chair for the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) last year.
He has replaced the outgoing Anthony Pender, who oversaw the organisation for four years and led the its campaign on business rates.
