A savvy pub has opened a special beer lane to quench the thirst of its punters without having to queue at the bar.

The speedy boarding-style concept will pop up at Scott’s of Rose Street pub in central Edinburgh, offering pub-goers priority access to hand-poured pints of McEwan’s Lager (3.6% ABV).

Scottish lager producer

The popular watering hole teamed up with the Scottish lager producer to come up with the enterprising concept – which has since gone down a treat with its punters.

Designed to reduce queuing time at the bar, the ‘lager lane’ was introduced just in time for the Women’s World Cup.

Joanna Stickler, McEwan’s brand manager, spoke of her enthusiasm behind the initiative, adding that it’s the perfect pairing for any sporting event.

“Everyone loves supporting their team, but queuing for a pint during the game? Not so much,” she questioned.

“That’s why we created McEwan’s Lager Lanes to give football supporters more time watching the match with their mates.

“Freshly poured draught lager and a national side win – now that’s the perfect recipe for a sing song down the local.”
