In the pink: Mermaid Gin is launching a new pink variant to meet consumer demand
Just three months after the successful relaunch of Mermaid Gin, Isle of Wight Distillery has introduced its first ever pink gin.

The launch of Mermaid Pink Gin (38% ABV) follows a period of “intense activity” for the spirit maker.

Sales of Mermaid Gin have risen by more than 110% since its “strikingly sculpted” Mermaid-like, plastic-free, bottling was launched.

Xavier Baker, co-founder of the Isle of Wight Distillery, said the pink gin is designed to make the most of the summer outdoor drinking season.

“The trade and consumer response to Mermaid’s new bottle has been amazing and has obviously kept us all very busy,” said an elated Baker.

“However, we’ve significantly invested in the distillery’s future and the pink gin represents the next big step for us.”

To create the gin, strawberries are steeped in the distillery’s signature “smooth, yet complex” gin for four days.

Baker added that the tipple is substantially less sweet than other pink gins on the market.

He concluded: “The pink gin category still has masses of potential, both here and abroad, so we’re confident our unique take on it will be a big hit.”
