After two rounds of judging, The Morning Advertiser can now announce the short-listed finalists for the 2019 Great British Pub Awards.

This year saw hundreds of pubs enter the awards and judges had to whittle each category down before the on-the-road judging begins, which will also be followed by a Skype interview.

The Morning Advertiser editor Ed Bedington said: “The rigorous judging process is always difficult due to the high quality of the pubs that enter.

“However, now decisions have been made and we have a very strong list of finalists that will be in the running to take the title of each of the categories, with one winner going on to take the title of Great British Pub of the Year.”

Glittering awards

Bedington wished good luck to all the finalists and congratulated them all on getting this far in the competition.

The glittering awards ceremony will be taking place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 5 September.

Mock The Week and Outnumbered funny man Hugh Dennis has just been announced as the host for the evening.
