How many venues have signed up for Eat Out to Help Out scheme?
Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the scheme to offer a discount to diners and encourage them to eat out of home during his Summer Statement on 8 July.
It can be used all day, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 August to 31 August 2020 to offer a 50% discount - up to a maximum of £10 per person - to diners for food and non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in.
Alcoholic drinks and service charges are excluded from the offer.
Claim details
There is no limit to the number of times customers can use the offer during this period, however customers cannot get a discount for someone who is not eating or drinking.
Consumers can now use an online finder tool to discover participating venues near them.

Participating businesses must wait seven days from registration to make their first claim with all eligible claims being paid within five working days.
Claims can be submitted weekly and businesses are encouraged to register before Monday 3 August to benefit for the entire period the scheme runs.

Sunak said: “Our restaurants, cafés and bars play a vital role in our economy, employing more than 1m people.
“They have been hit hard by coronavirus so it is vital we do everything we can do help them recover. Our Eat Out to Help Out scheme is designed to get more customers through the door – protecting jobs by giving businesses the confidence to retain and hire staff.
“More than 53,000 businesses across the country have already signed up and customers are now able to find one near them with the online finder.”
