South London-based Brixton Brewery has launched its first major marketing campaign, focused on celebrating its south London roots.

The campaign, which is the brewer’s biggest spend on above the line activity to date, includes digital, out of home, PR and video placements across London and the south east.

It aims to drive awareness of the brand and to showcase creators, makers, artists and performers who help make Heineken-owned Brixton electric.

It will form the Electric Collective – a group of local artists who have created tributes to Brixton, who will be highlighted.

This summer will showcase mixed media artist Azarra Amoy and spoken word artist Miss Yankey, who has written an ode to Brixton, which will be used across digital advertising.

Major advertising campaign

On-trade customers will receive PoS in a bid to drive visibility in outlet including new tap handles with specific designs for beers such as Coldharbour Lager and Reliance Pale Ale, which are inspired by Brixton landmarks.

Co-founder Jez Galaun said: “We are thrilled to be able to put Brixton Brewery in front of more people than ever before via our first major advertising campaign.

“We want drinkers wherever they are to be able to ‘Get a Taste of Brixton’ and understand why our customers love our beers so much.

“It’s especially exciting to have joined forces with local artists Azarra Amoy and Miss Yankey to pay tribute to the south London neighbourhood we all love and show off the amazing creativity and talent that inspired us to start a brewery back in 2013 and continues to inspire us every day.”

Furthermore, Brixton is also offering a pub the opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind mural, worth up to £5,000.

Connected to its roots

The promotion will provide the winning pub the opportunity to feature a unique piece of wall art.

Galaun added: “We’re incredibly proud of our artwork and mural collaborations to date and are delighted to have the chance to bring Brixton to life in another venue.

“As a brewery, we’ve always been connected to our roots and are passionate about celebrating our heritage – wherever our winner may be, we can’t wait to offer them a real taste of Brixton.”

Criteria to enter, operators need to have either a Brixton Brewery variant installed or install one for at least a year, share their details including pub or bar information via email here for the chance to win.

The competition closes on 15 August and the winner will receive a Brixton Brewery mural for their wall, which is estimated to be worth up to £5,000, alongside a variety of PoS including bar mats and parasols.
