Award-winning non-alcoholic spirits brand, Lyre’s, has announced the launch of its latest variant, Highland Malt.

Crafted to capture the essence of a blended malt whiskey, Lyre’s 0% Highland Malt offers notes of light grain cereals, stone fruit, almond, sea salt and charred oak with a light honey hue, designed to be enjoyed on the rocks or in cocktails.

Lyre’s CEO Mark Livings said: “The ever-increasing appetite for no and low options has catapulted the category from strength-to-strength in the past few years and is now estimated to reach £450m by 2024.

“We have the largest portfolio of premium non-alcoholic spirits globally because we want our customers to have variety and choice – the choice to have their drinks their way without the alcohol.

“Highland Malt has been a real labour of love. It’s taken many years and a lot of innovation and testing to perfect the recipe, but finally we’ve created a [serve] we’re proud to bring to market.”

Due to launch at Low2NoBev at Olympia, London, (26 – 28 September), the new offering from Lyre’s will then be available in 700ml bottles at RRP £23.50 via Proof Drinks and direct from Lyre’s.

Lyre’s flavour architect David Murphy said: “While Lyre’s spirits are true to taste, they have their own distinction as a premium non-alcoholic beverage, and therefore, understanding the popularity of Whisky, we wanted to deliver the same delicious taste but with a difference."

Richmond, London, based brand the Spirit of One has released its first vodka, One Vodka (40% ABV), with 10% of the profits going towards the One Foundation, supporting clean water projects all over the world.

A smooth botanical vodka, One Vodka offers notes of fresh sage with a hint of vanilla, balanced with a citrus zest, best served chilled on the rocks or in cocktails, particularly dry Martini’s.

Furthermore, the vodka is presented in Spirit of One’s new ‘Butterfly Bottle’, designed by Saint Design London, ideal to be used as a carafe once empty.

The Spirit of One co-founder Ian Spooner said: “The founding principle behind the Spirit of One is to create remarkable spirits that give back.

“We were created to support a fundamental humanitarian cause: the global water crisis [and] are called ‘One’ because we know we can’t change the world overnight, but we believe we can change lives one person at a time, one day at a time.

“In the last 5 years we have launched two beautiful award-winning Gins, a limited-edition Port rested gin and a ready to drink G&T range. It has always been our ambition to expand into spirits beyond gin and this launch marks the start of a new chapter for us. Exciting times”

Due to launch on 20 October, the new serve will be availble direct from the brand’s webshop in 70cl bottle format at RRP £34.

Bosca launches new 'Sparkletini' range

Bosca.Sparkletini

Bosca winery has announced the launch of its new ‘Sparkletini’ range (5% ABV), created through fusing centuries-old experience combined with modern production techniques.

Made in Italy from a unique recipe of sparkling wine, cereals, and natural fruit aromas, the Sparkletini range includes six wines; Peach, Raspberry, Strawberry, Watermelon, Green Apple and Elderflower

Furthermore, a Bosca-patented Multistap cap preserves the bubbles over time and guarantees the taste is unchanged each time the bottle is reopened, keeping the theatre of opening the bottle intact and meaning the wine stays fresh, and fragrant for days.

Additionally, UK drinkers are increasingly choosing low-and-no alcohol products with almost one in three now ‘semi-regularly’ opting for these options, compared to one in four in 2020, according to a YouGov study.

A spokesman for Bosca said: “We can see consumer tastes changing over time; not only do the younger generation, and therefore, new generation of wine drinkers want to make healthier choices, but they also want a variety of alcohol products and flavours which go beyond traditional red, white or rose wine.”

The Bosca Sparkletini range is availble now from LWC drinks at RRP £7 a serve.

Rugby players join forces for 'passion project'

Bach.95

Bach 95 (4.2% ABV), a premium reduced-calorie lager, has officially launched onto the market in a bid to disrupt the low-calorie sector.

Founded by Sale Sharks rugby player Will Cliff, former rugby player Tom Holmes, and former rugby player and sports agent, Jesse Coulson, Bach 95 has been developed by master brewers and beer consultants and brewed using a detailed recipe.

Developed in Cheshire, Bach 95 is a crisp, light, full-strength and reduced-calorie beer that is easy to drink, vegan-friendly and gluten free.

Bach 95 co-founder Will Cliff said: “Bach 95 has been an idea of ours for years, something which started out as a conversation between friends and now has become something which we want to throw everything at because we believe in it so much.

“We’ve all been lucky enough to carve out pretty successful careers as professional rugby players - currently, or at one time or another - that said, we have always had a passion for beer.

“With this in mind, we decided to make a modern lager for everyone, both men and women. Still a full-strength lager, with no compromise on taste, and full in flavour, Bach 95 has close to half the calories than most other lagers in the marketplace and is gluten free and vegan friendly.”
