Family brewer Joseph Holt has announced customers are in with a chance to see a pub named after them.

As part of 175th anniversary celebrations, the business has released 16 beer mats, each one with specific history dedicated to the brand. All mats are available across 127 pubs throughout the northwest. Winners of all 16 will enter a draw and have a pub of their choosing named after them for a period of two weeks.

The company stated the winner and a group will be invited to a “VIP party” hosted by the brand.

So proud

The Manchester-based brewery was first opened in 1849 by Joseph Holt and has since moved to Empire Street in Cheetham Hill. Joseph Holt Beers are supplied to over 500 nationally and has been in the same family for six generations.

Joseph Holt pubs director Mark Norbury said: “Joseph Holt is so proud of its 175th milestone – of which our customers have played such a critical part since our pubs located in the heart of the communities where they are located. We want to repay this loyalty and sense of historic connection by giving one special person a chance to see their favourite Joseph Holt pub named after them.”

Collector's item

Norbury added: “ Even though one person will win the chance to have a pub named after them, we're sure customers will enjoy gathering in and reading, the beer mats. These are likely to become such a collector’s item and are also a lovely way to learn more about Joseph Holt`s history and its amazing journey.”

The business is also set to celebrate 175 years with a festival on 20and 21 September as part of its beer festival, where customers will have the chance to experience highly exclusive brewery tours.
