70% of hospitality leaders face staffing challenges

Around 70% of leaders in the hospitality sector are facing challenges with tough trading conditions expected to continue, according to the new Lumina Intelligence Top of Mind Report 2023.

Eating out market to grow 4.6% in 2023

The eating out market has been predicted to grow by 4.6% during 2023, reaching a total value of £95.2bn, figures from Lumina Intelligence have revealed.

23% of pub trips involve burgers

Almost a quarter (23.15%) of times people ate out at pubs from November 2020 to January 2022 included burgers, data from Lumina Intelligence Eating and Drinking Out Panel has revealed.

The pub and bar sector saw a net loss of 1,930 venues during 2020, with £13.9bn being wiped off the total market value from 2019, according to an industry report.

Two in five (42%) visits to pubs are for drink-only occasions, while almost a quarter (24%) of trips to the on-trade are for dinner, new research has revealed.
