Revealed: cheapest place to buy a pint
The survey, run by travel website Go Euro, compared the prices of beer in pubs and supermarkets in 74 major cities.
Drinkers in Leeds and Liverpool have reason to celebrate, with the two northern cities coming in at number 32 and 25 respectively.
The average cost of beer in Liverpudlian supermarkets is down to 75p, rising to £2.66 in pubs.
London emerged as more even more expensive than the infamously costly Australia, with the average beer price at £4.74. People in the capital spend £696 a year on beer, compared to £406 in Liverpool and £468 in Leeds.
Geneva was revealed as the most expensive place to purchase a pint, with the average price at £4.08 and the price of pint in pubs reaching an eye-watering £6.95.
