Thornbridge Brewery set to increase capacity

The brewery, which started out in a 16hl brewhouse in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire, will employ a total of 38 people by the end of 2015 – up from two when it started in 2005.

The company now exports to 33 countries, at almost 30% of its turnover.

Thornbridge’s chief operations officer Simon Webster, said: “It’s been a fantastic 10 years for us. From the beginning we had a simple approach which we encapsulated in our 'Innovation Passion Knowledge' strap line and that has focused us on making the best beer we could and delighting customers wherever possible.” 

He added: “The expansion will also us to continue on the path we have begun by satisfying more customers across the world that are demanding high quality beers and great choice.”

Head brewer Rob Lovatt said the brewery has a number of plans to help it celebrate its tenth anniversary.

He added: “New beers of course, and some old favourites, but always with quality to the fore.”
