The Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) is celebrating the release of the new edition of its Good Beer Guide Belgium with a competition to win a weekend away in Brussels.

Author Tim Webb provides recommendations on the best places to drink beer and eat as well as information on how and where to enjoy Belgian beer in the UK and a guide on different beer styles.

"Nowadays the book is a travel guide, with sections on getting there, understanding the country, specialist tourism, bringing beer home and UK suppliers," he said.

"At heart it is still about politics and in particular the dynamic between the global dream makers selling white sliced beer and the artists who create the interesting stuff."

He added: "The Belgians make the finest, most enjoyable and extraordinary beers on Earth - the fact that they don't realise it is a bonus. It's great to be a tourist with a weapon that puts you ahead of the locals."

Camra has joined forces with Eurolines to win coach travel and accomodation for two in Brussels. Sponsors of the new book, Cave Direct, are also offering ten cases of Belgian beers as runner-up prizes.

To enter the competition you need to answer the following question:

How many Trappist breweries are there in Belgium?

A - 0

B - 6

C - 60

You can enter online at www.camra.org.uk/belgiumcomp , or via email to kim.carvey@camra.org.uk .

Good Beer Guide Belgium is published is available from all good retailers, as well as from the Camra shop (www.camra.org.uk/shop ), priced £12.99 for members, and £14.99 for non-members.
