Drinkaware binge drinking
Drinkaware is launching a review in support of the Government’s Alcohol Strategy.

The aim of the review is for the charity to to develop a strategy to help reduce the harm from public drunkenness.

Drinkaware is interested in the factors that drive ‘binge’ drinking. It also would like evidence on the relevance to Drinkaware’s work on alcohol education, consumer information campaigns and local partnerships.

The charity has commissioned an independent researcher to review the existing evidence and undertake fresh research. This research will be used in a report to be published in February 2014.

Anne Foster, director of marketing and communications at Drinkaware, said: “Binge drinking and its negative consequences blight communities, families, businesses and public services. Each year, £21 billion is spent cleaning up after late-night revellers and those who have drunk to excess.

"If we are all paying the price, it stands to reason that we all need to work together to find a collective solution. That is why Drinkaware is issuing this call for evidence to help inform a comprehensive strategy. We look forward to publishing the report early next year.”

Submissions should be received by 11 October by email fvzba@fvzbapuevfgznf.arg or post to Simon Christmas Ltd, 31-35 Great Ormond Street, London WC1N 3HZ.
