Get Licensed has responded to training malpractice concerns, revealed in the PMA last week.

Get Licensed has responded to training malpractice concerns, revealed in the PMA last week. The company has confirmed that it is  now a web portal and not a training provider.

The PMA reported that 1,284 licences were withdrawn by the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC). Malpractice was found in the physical intervention module. HABC found malpractice between October 2010 and May 2011.

The current Get Licensed management team said it accepts that there was a serious breach of compliance on a number of courses delivered by subcontractors in late 2010 and early 2011 in which the required ratio of 1 tutor to every 12 students was exceeded. These subcontractors are no longer part of the Get Licensed training network. The Get Licensed website provides a one stop shop where candidates can compare training providers (via customer reviews).

A statement from the company said that it has contacted all candidates affected and more than 600 have responded and retrained for free.

It said: “Get Licensed co-operated fully with HABC and the SIA during the investigation.

“The current management accepts the findings of the investigation however it should be noted that the malpractice took place under the previous ownership/management team.”
