Controversial television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has announced he will be moving from cars to bars, following the BBC’s announcement they would not be renewing his contract.

The former Top Gear presenter has announced he will now be going into the pub trade, along with colleagues James May and Richard Hammond, opening a chain of motoring themed outlets, and setting up a micro-brewery to produce craft ales.

Clarkson said the trio were currently considering a range of products under a “Top Beer” brand and would be encouraging fellow celebrities to get involved by visiting their outlets as part of a special Saturday night feature, “Star in a Reasonably Priced Bar”.

As well as beer, the pubs will feature a range of steak options, he added, which would be served until late in the evening to avoid any unnecessary scenes. Steaks are also to be offered in a range of options, including a black and blue version.

Clarkson said: “We want to bring that winning Top Gear format to the world of pubs, because what better combination than motoring and alcohol. And on that bombshell…..”
