Bass Brewers has announced the national roll-out of Arc, the world's first super-chilled lager, less than a year after it was provisionally launched last summer.

Arc is a premium draught lager served at near-zero temperatures using a unique patented system that dispenses the pint, at the touch of a button, with soft crystals of frozen lager.

Having successfully trialled the "super nucleated" brand within the M25 at around £3 a pint, Bass is pressing ahead with plans to introduce it into a number of outlets in more than a dozen key cities during the next six months.

In addition to London, Arc will be available to drinkers in Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle, Sheffield and Nottingham.

The specially designed automated Arc font incorporates a glass cooling system that sprays cold water onto a rotating glass prior to pouring.

This ensures that Arc is dispensed at between one and two degrees celsius before an ultrasonic trigger makes sure the lager crystals rise to the top of the glass.

Adrian Fawcett of Bass Brewers added: "Arc is a glimpse into the future, a direct response to consumer demand and a brand that adds huge potential to our product portfolio.

"We're really excited about the brand and are extremely proud of the innovative approach to new product design which has resulted in a revolutionary pint."
