The Kings Head Hotel in the village of Great Bircham, Norfolk, has been sold to Bircham Estates Ltd. The company plans to close the premises for a few months to undertake an extensive refurbishment programme. Isidoro and Iris Verrando have owned the Kings Head for the past 16 years and plan to retire. Photographs in the bar reveal previous visits from members of the Royal family. The selling agent was Guy Simmonds (Anglia) and the hotel was sold off the asking price of £430,000 for the freehold. Pair with Bat & Ball A Farnham couple, Kevin and Sally Macready, have bought the Bat & Ball freehouse in Boundstone, Surrey. Christie & Co's Winchester office sold the pub and restaurant in Bat & Ball Lane ­ off Upper Bourne Lane ­ on behalf of Gary Peters.It will close for six weeks so the new owner can undertake a major refurbishment, enlarging the trade areas but retaining and replacing the property's character. The Bat & Ball was sold for an undisclosed figure from an asking price of £550,000 for the freehold interest.
