Tango has renamed its Freekee Soda range after a legal challenge from an unknown company. The juice and milk-based drink, available in orange and strawberry flavours, will be known as Tango Strange Soda from 1 September. Tango has spent £5m on an ad campaign, running until the end of August, to highlight the name change. This is the second time the brand has been renamed the original title, Freekin' Soda, was dropped due to the connotations of the word "freekin". Zoe's Cuervo deal Diageo's Cuervo Especial Tequila has a new deal to sponsor Zoe Ball's drivetime show on radio station Xfm. The deal, which runs for six months from mid-August, includes both on-air and online promotional activity. "Zoe Ball epitomises the mischievous side of Cuervo Tequila and her radio show is the perfect vehicle to communicate the brand's message," a spokesperson said. The brand will also sponsor Richard Bacon's programme on Friday evenings. Cider ads for League Matthew Clark Cider, which owns Blackthorn, is to advertise at Scottish Premier League football grounds. The Blackthorn logo will be displayed along the ground perimeter at each game, including 16 matches to be broadcast on BBC TV. National account manager Lee Barrie said: "This will guarantee a huge amount of coverage as hundreds of thousands of spectators will see the advertising live' at the game. The impact will also reach beyond this audience to the tens of millions viewing the 16 screened matches on the BBC.
