The Exeter office of Christie & Co has sold the Seafarers restaurant in Falmouth, Cornwall, on behalf of Paula Greenhead to Nigel Holmes, who formerly owned the Golf View Hotel in Newquay. Seafarers occupies a substantial three-storey period property comprising a character 54-cover restaurant area and seven-bedroom owner's accommodation with garden and double garage. It has a prime trading location on the town's busy main street, close to public car parks and the new marina development. The previous proprietor had operated the business since September 2000 and established a good reputation for seafood. Paul Ranger of Christie & Co said: "Demand for restaurant premises, whether freehold or leasehold, in busy tourist areas across the West Country is extremely high. The sale of Seafarers attracted a high level of interest and there were a number of disappointed underbidders who are still looking for similar opportunities." The Seafarers was sold for an undisclosed figure. Christie & Co sought £150,000 for the remaining six years of the current lease.
