A popular destination freehouse in a prominent main road position is up for sale in west Devon.

"The Harvest Home at Gulworthy is only on the market because one of the owners is suffering from ill health," said a spokesman for selling agent Bettesworths.

"Robert and Pauline Reed took over the business a year ago and have reluctantly decided to sell."

The pub has views over open countryside that includes the Dartmoor National Park. The business is drawn from the many surrounding towns of Tavistock, Callington, and Gunnislake.

"The Harvest Home is a detached property which has been recently redecorated to ensure it offers a warm and inviting atmosphere.

"It is renowned for its charity work and organises many fundraising events for local worthwhile causes."

The pub has developed a reputation for fine food and specialises in local produce. Catch of the day usually comes from the fishing port of Brixham in south Devon.

The pub has open-plan trading areas bar, dining room and conservatory, which in total seats more than 60. Bettesworths is seeking £520,000 for the freehold interest.
