Thug banned from pubs for second year

A thug has been banned from 18 Pubwatch pubs in Northwich, Cheshire just weeks after a previous ban came to an end.

The 21-year-old from Comberbach, who has not been named, was originally given a 12-month ban in January 2004 for a violent act in a pub.

His ban ended last month, but he has been barred for a further year for his aggressive and violent behaviour towards staff at the Green Dragon on 22 January.

Pubwatch chairman Jerry Hart said 14 people are currently banned from all Pubwatch pubs.

"It shows that we are taking note of the troublemakers by giving these bans out," said Hart, Punch tenant of the Beehive pub.

Failure to find killers prompts reward

A £10,000 reward is being offered for the capture of the person who killed a man in a pub car park one year ago.

Patrick Marshall, 46, was shot dead at about 9pm on Sunday 8 February 2004 in the car park of the Park Tavern, Arnold Road, Basford, Nottingham.

Police said Marshall was seen in the Heathfield pub, also on Arnold Road, which he left at around 6.45pm for the Sherwood area of the city.

He was seen inside the Park Tavern at about 8.15pm and left the bar at about 9pm, when he was shot.

Police said the attackers drove off towards Basford Crossings in a dark-coloured car.

Officers particularly want to speak to anyone who saw Marshall in Sherwood or in the Heathfield that evening, or who was in Arnold Road at around 9pm.
