"I think it is something that if he had said in private no-one would have thought twice about it, but as it has been reported on, he should have reflected on it more. After all, he is a public figure and so has a responsibility. He should apologise. Overall though, I am a Ken Livingstone fan and I think he has done a great job for London."

"Yes he should have apologised. I think anyone in his position should apologise to clear up where words have been misinterpreted by people. I don't think he meant them as a joke but nor do I think he intended to offend Jewish people as a whole. He obviously had a problem with this one particular reporter, but whether that was the case or not, you have just got to be more careful about what you say. Mind you, he has always been outspoken and will probably continue to be so. I do think he has done a better job for London than most thought he would, though."

"No. Everyone keeps saying stuff and there are always apologies flying about in the news. Why don't we let him just get on with it? We are constantly bombarded with apologies and people demanding them for this and that and demanding that people be sacked from office. No-one sees the bigger picture. Ken Livingstone has done a lot for us. At one time or another, we all say things that are out of order. Just let him do his job."
