Seven high-volume free-of-tie pubs have come on the market in Scotland. The Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises (S&NPE) pubs are not suitable for tenancy, so are being leased on a free-of-tie basis.

They include the Admiral Bar in Glasgow city centre, the Cramond Tavern, a community bar in Springboig, the Centaur Bar in Easterhouse - a very high-volume pub at 586 draft barrels - the Salmon Leap in East Kilbride, the Eriskyne at Erskine, the Oasthouse in Glenrothes and the Cellar Bar on Rose Street, Edinburgh.

Alan Creevy, at property agent Creevy LLH, explained: "S&NPE acquired a large number of public houses from the Spirit Group just prior to Christmas 2004. "Within the estate, it acquired seven public houses which it holds on lease but are not suitable for tenancy. So we have been instructed to market the properties on a free-of-tie lease by simply assigning the existing interest onto a purchaser."

Prices range from offers over £50,000 for the Cellar Bar in Rose Street up to £160,000 for the Salmon Leap in Kilbride.
