Pubchef's round-up of the latest launches

Glassware and tabletop products distributor John Artis is introducing a range of porcelain tableware from European manufacturer Costa Verde at Hotelympia. Styled by London-based Studio Levien, the Eclipse range is inspired by contemporary cuisine, with clean lines to present food in a fresh, modern way. Rectangular, square and round plates have a distinctive "offset" rim and signature pieces include double and triple-bowl buffet plates. John Artis marketing manager Christina Emerson said: "It makes an immediate visual impact and really presents nicely at table. We feel it will perfectly complement chefs' creations and enhance a fine dining experience."

Valera's fat-free regeneration fryer is now available in a large capacity version which can cope with the high volume output needed for batch cooking. The Quik'n'Crispy QNC-GF5 can produce 2kg of hot-air-fried appetisers in a batch, or 15kg of French fries per hour. It has a built-in grease and carbon filtration system to help reduce odours and vapours. Because it uses only hot air and radiant heat, the Quik'n'Crispy will appeal to healthconscious consumers - foods are said to be 20-40% lower in fat and cholesterol than those cooked in a traditional deep-fat fryer.

Being launched at Hotelympia, Cavity Protection Systems' easy-to-clean microwave oven uses a specially designed removable plastic liner to protect the cavity from grease and food particles. The base design of the new product is also said to keep more than 50% of the food being cooked off the base, encouraging air circulation under the cooking dish and helping to keep the container cool.

Enodis UK is launching the first high speed microwave-assisted impinger oven to be designed and produced in the UK at Hotelympia. The EC402S is said to offer the flexibility of combination cooking with extra control over fan speed and microwave power. A combination of convection heat, impingement pressure and up to 150W of microwave power means the EC402S can cook 10-12 times faster than conventional convection ovens, with typical cook times of 15 seconds to one minute 30 seconds. A built-in catalytic converter eliminates the need for a ventilation hood so the oven can operate in virtually any environment.

Aiming to extend the barbecue season, Equip Line has developed an adjustable height indoor Gas Lava Rock Grill. Part of the Whirlpool Professional heavy duty 900 Collection, the countertop chargrill has two independently controlled zones for versatility and economy in quieter periods. The compact grill weighs 104kg, has a power output of 18kW and measures 800mm x 900mm x 270mm. Other units in the 900 Collection include bain-maries, boiling pans, deep fat fryers, pasta cookers, oven ranges and tilting bratt pans in gas and electric options.
