As part of the Morning Advertiser's Plan for the Ban campaign the group is holding a half-day seminar to help operators make smoke-free go trouble-free.

With the Government looking to implement a ban by next year there really is no better time to see how your business will be placed post public smoking.

The morning conference will be examining the possible financial consequences and seeking out the opportunities for the industry to boost profit post smoking ban.

Highlights include:

* Understanding the possible financial implications* Understanding the possible business opportunities that can be exploited.* BDO Stoy Hayward looking at comparisons with other countries and cities that have a smoking ban.* Learn from a panel of leading experts such as the BBA, BHA, ALMR, GMB Union and Christie + Co how leisure operators change their proposition and offering to keep their trade.* Take advice from Costa Coffee who explain their rationale behind going non-smoking ahead of the game and how strategies were adapted to fit the rationale.* Operator best practice will be shared with you by Costa Coffee, Euromonitor International, Market Town Taverns Plc and Scottish & Newcastle UK Ltd in a panel discussion. As well as future strategies and the shape of the on-trade beer market.* Finally you can hear from Ladbrokes Ireland, Scottish Beer and Pub Association and BDO Stoy Hayward about evidence from other smoking bans.

The Smoking Ban - 08:45am - 12.45pm, 24 May 2006.
