Heavy duty installation

A vacant shop premises in Chelmsford has been transformed into an upmarket café bar following a new kitchen installation. Owner Graham Aldis has developed Grahams on the Green as a restaurant and café bar, offering a formal dining area as well as outdoor seating and a more relaxed bar area.

Grahams, which launched in December 2005, is open from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and evening meals, and serves Sunday lunches from 12 noon until 3pm.

The kitchen can serve 60 covers a sitting, with head chef Steve Chamberlain confident he can deliver 200 covers a day. With this level of custom he needs equipment he can rely on.

Graham chose to install Imperial equipment in the new kitchen. He says: "I sought advice on which equipment would be best suited to our needs and heard that Imperial's ranges are robust, reliable and easy to use.

"This is definitely the case as we have put the ranges through their paces and have had excellent results."

Distributor Contract Catering Equipment installed a complete suite including a four-burner range and six-burner range, three salamanders (a grill), a solid top range and a charbroiler.

The suite is made of tough stainless steel and can withstand vigorous cleaning.
