Taste success with the Pub Food Awards
There's still time to get your entry in for the Pub Food Awards 2006.
The best food pubs in the business will be recognised in a gala ceremony at the Savoy, London, on November 8.
John Porter food editor of The Publican, said: "Some of the best-known chefs in the business are now working in the pub sector, but that 's not just what the Pub Food Awards are about.
"We'll be honouring the publicans and pub operators which consistently serve up great food and great service, day in, and day out. But no matter how good your menu is, we can't shortlist your pub until your send in the entry form."
Each of the fifteen categories will be shortlisted to four finalists, with members of The Publican team carrying out mystery visits.
A distinguished panel of judges will then assemble to make the final decisions. Well know figures from across the sector have agreed to act as judges.
They include:
- Bob Cotton, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association
- Richard Fagan, foodservice development manager with the Meat and Livestock Commission
- Brian George, president of the National BBQ Association
- Steve Howe, BII director of membership
