A charity walker who is visiting pubs on an epic journey from John O'Groats to Land's End has had his support car stolen.

Darren Apps, who is raising funds for disabled and disadvantaged children, had his car taken after a much-needed lunch stop at Billinge, near Wigan.

We urge any individuals or companies who can help David get back on track to please get in touch with usRonnie Nathan, Variety Club.

Knocked downHis driver was even knocked down as the car sped away.

Apps hopes his walk will raise thousands of pounds for the Variety Club Children's Charity but also wants to raise the plight of Britain's community pubs.

Apps had just stopped for a photo opportunity with Kirk from Coronation Street at a local pub in Chorley.

He said: "To say I am gutted is an understatement.

"Since I began this challenge I have had to overcome countless obstacles, but I will not give up.

"We've put months into this and to have someone do this to you is just so frustrating.

"It's the small things; the maps, walking boots and supplies that will just be such an inconvenience to replace."

Can you help?Ronnie Nathan, chief barker at the Variety Club said:

"Darren has put months of his life into this fundraising record attempt to help The Variety Club support sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the UK, and we urge any individuals or companies who can help David get back on track to please get in touch with us."

Darren, who recently broke the 500 mile barrier, is hoping to continue his trip.
