A model is set to breathe new life into a notorious old pub.

Lauren Gregory, 24, aims to transform the old Pottergate Tavern into a bohemian nightspot called The Birdcage in Norwich. The brunette has spent the past few years modelling for such illustrious names as Vivienne Westwood, Diesel and Vogue.

She's now busy getting everything ready for the September launch with her boyfriend and co-owner Oliver Cottam.

Cottam, 26, is originally from Norwich and has spent the past few years working at events in New York and London.

Gregory, who plans to continue modelling, said: "It is not going to be a bar or a pub - the Birdcage is going to be something a bit different, a bit special and not like anything else in Norwich.

"It is a beautiful Art Deco building with an incredible space inside and we just saw a massive chance to turn it into a nightclub."

Gregory is originally from Beccles, Suffolk, and studied at Norwich School of Art and Design. The Birdcage is due to open on 2 September.
