Young's salmon range

I can remember when salmon was only for special occasions - although the less said about my first wedding, the better. We sell it all year round now, and the new range from Young's is quick and easy to serve. There's hand-cut Scottish salmon escalopes, garlic & parsley salmon fillets, and pesto crumb topped salmon fillets. You can get them through 3663. They're too posh for chips, though - we shall have to break out the wedges.

Jack Link's ready-to-eat Steak Bar​

One for the boys, I think. Our pub football team certainly love something a bit meaty after the match, so I'm going to give these new ready-to-eat Steak Bars from Jack Links a try. The 25g bars come in three flavours - BBQ, teriyaki and peppered. Jack Link's do some smart point-of-sale too.

Roberts Curries​

I once had a really spicy curry in Wales. Lovely. The bloke I was with turned out to be a bit on the mild-and-yoghurty side, though, and I dumped him near Bridgend. So I was interested to see that Roberts of Port Dinorwic has developed a range of curry dishes for pubs. There are three on offer - a seafood curry made with flaky cod, king prawns, Thai spices and coconut milk, a tikka masala and a korma dish, with more on the way. They can be supplied in a variety of pack formats including microwavable containers, foil trays and boil in the bag. Pass the poppadoms.

Danby Food winter soup flavours​

Winter draws on. There's a real draught from that dodgy bar door and I've already had to warn our new barmaid about her low-cut tops. She'll have someone's eye out. And Danby's Foods has launched its new Real Soup Company winter soups. There's Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato, Spiced Parsnip, Cream of Spinach and delicious Carrot and Wensleydale Cheese. We'll be selling them from next month - so maybe I won't rush to get the door fixed, the breeze should sell a few more bowls.

Walkers Baked​

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how many bags of lower fat crisps we'll sell. We're more of a Nobby's Nuts kind of a pub. But the new Walkers Baked range is aimed at men in their 20s and 30s, so we'll give them a go. A 25g bag of Baked contains 70 per cent less fat than regular crisps and fewer than 100 calories per pack. They're in three flavours: Ready Salted, Salt & Vinegar and Cheese & Onion. Mars Drink​

We've got loads of kids' parties booked for the next few weeks. It always makes me a bit weepy, because I hardly ever see my own little grandchildren. I warned our Kelly about that bloke, but would she listen? Anyway, I've bought in plenty of these new-look 310ml Mars Drinks. The kids love them - and so do most of their mums. English Cheesecake Company​

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing nicer than a cheesecake is a cheesecake with alcohol in it. The English Cheesecake Company is launching a new seasonal range of desserts using branded alcohol. There are eight great varieties - I think my favourites will be Chocolate Orange and Grand Marnier, Fruit and Nut Chocolate with Lamb's Navy Rum, and Choc Chip with Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur - but for the sake of research, I plan to try them all.
