A Manchester couple are this week celebrating 20 years as licensees in the same Manchester pub.

Hydes' licensees Michael and Sheila Reynolds are celebrating 20 years at the Jolly Angler, in Manchester - a pub known for its real ale.

Michael and Sheila were the only residents in the street when they moved in, but have enjoyed seeing the development of the residential buildings around them.

Sheila said: "When we moved in to the pub Ducie House was an industrial building where they made shirts and umbrellas among other things.

"What is now Paradise Wharf was the old Hills Transport Building whose manager Ernie was our very first customer in our new pub."

David Safiruddin, marketing director at Hydes comments: "The Jolly Angler is a fantastic example of a traditional pub that has survived and is thriving nestled in a quite side street in a huge redevelopment area.

Hydes made a presentation to Michael and Sheila earlier this month in recognition of their 20 years service, when regulars enjoyed an evening of live music in the pub.
